She has been developing and running bariatric programs for the past four years.  She has worked with a team of physicians, surgeons, behaviorists, and other coordinating medical staff to assure the continuum of care is being met for her patients.  The root of the education she provides is that the surgery is only a tool.  In learning how to use this tool, is where long term success is found.

Lea is an advocate of moderation and does not believe in bad foods, only bad behaviors. Through behavior modifications clients are able to meet their goals while still enjoying the foods they love. Using motivational coaching, Lea helps to strategize the most effective plan to meet each client’s own individual needs.  Ultimately, clients are coached to move beyond the guilt and into an empowered space of choice and gratitude.

As a speaker at the 2009 LA Triathlon Expo, Lea provided sports nutrition information for triathletes preparing for their race.  She understands an athlete’s nutritional needs beyond the textbook.  Combining her nutritional expertise with her sports background and racing in triathlons, she knows the key for properly fueling the human body.  While tailoring each athlete’s nutrition program to their specific energy needs, Lea incorporates foods to the athlete’s own likes and tolerances for optimal performance.

Professional organizations that Lea belongs to include;  American Dietetic Association, Sports Cardiovascular and Wellness Nutrition, Nutrition Entrepreneurs, American College of Sports Medicine, Professionals In Nutrition and Exercise Sports, and Women In Sports and Events.
