We were born with an innate sense of our nutritional needs. What happened?? I’ll give you a hint, it seems to be on the cover of almost every magazine; Dieting! Dieting has forced us to rely on external cues rather than our innate internal cues. Ever wonder why you’re always hungry when you diet? The answer is two-fold: we eat to fuel our bodies and because we enjoy it. Yes, there is an enjoyment component to eating. When we diet, we often cut calories so low our bodies are deprived, in addition to eating the same boring ‘diet foods’ we are never truly satisfied!
My goal is not to give you any quick fix that perpetuates the vicious cycle of dieting, but to provide you with the tools that can help you balance your eating habits and physical activity to create a higher quality of life.
Being a triathlete, registered dietitian, and having a background in exercise physiology is a synergistic combination that creates a great platform for working with athletes and providing advanced sports nutrition education and coaching. I am specialized in Bariatric Nutrition and understand the importance of proper nourishment pre and post operation. I have enjoyed helping my patients be successful and achieve their goals after the surgery. I provide an eight week program to better prepare you for life after surgery. It is essential that you learn how to use this tool correctly for long term success with weight loss, overall health, and well being.

Lets face it, the work environment may not be all that conducive to healthy living: sitting most of the day, donuts at meetings or in the break room, candy jars on every desk, vending machines around the corner, etc. However, due to rising healthcare cost, many employers are looking to prevent illness via worksite wellness programs. I am available for occasional speaking engagements, providing educational seminars for employees as well as designing and implementing worksite exercise and nutrition wellness programs.
